-Creating any policies rooted in any religious beliefs (specifically Christian beliefs when working with ILC), opens school districts up for litigation.
-Litigation is costly for districts, and it ties up administration, keeping them from doing important
work focused on serving students and staff.
-Creating policies that are discriminatory towards groups of students makes students feel that
they do not matter or belong. When students do not feel like they matter, it affects their ability to learn.
-If discriminatory policies are put in place and students do not feel safe or welcome, they will withdraw from the district, causing enrollment to drop.
-ILC works “pro bono.” However, if any policies they help create cause the district to be
involved in litigation, ILC must represent the district.
